Opal Card

The Opal smartcard makes getting around on public transport in Sydney easy.  The card will allow you to tap on and tap off to pay your fares on trains, buses, ferries and light rail anywhere within the Opal network. Travel anywhere from the Blue Mountains to Bondi, or Goulburn to Scone.

Opal cards are available from newsagents, post offices, convenience stores and supermarkets. Look for the Opal symbol at shops, or look up the closest outlet using the Opal retailer search.

Darling Harbour is 8km or 30 minutes’ drive from Sydney Airport. A taxi fare to the city is approximately $30.00.

A train operates from the Domestic and International Terminals at Sydney Airport and run on average every 10 minutes during the day on a weekday and every 15 minutes on weekends. Fares from the airport to the city are approximately $17.00 per adult for a single journey.  You can use your Opal card on this route.



ICC Sydney is a short walk 15 minute from most parts of the Sydney CBD.  All of the conference hotels listed on this website are within a 10 minute walk to the venue.


There are three taxi ranks at Darling Harbour; one at the ICC Sydney, one at Wheat Road near the IMAX Cinema and one behind the shopping centre on Convention Place.

Water Taxi

Water taxis operate to and from Darling Harbour. Water taxi’s depart from The Rocks, Circular Quay, The Opera House and Luna Park.


There are a number of secure car parks located in and around Darling Harbour. Please refer to the map below.


There are direct ferry services from Circular Quay, King Street Wharf or Pyrmont Bay Wharf to Darling Harbour.

Sydney Light Rail

The Light Rail operates from Central Station in the CBD to Lilyfield in the inner west. There are a number of stations at Darling Harbour within walking distance to ICC Sydney.


A short walk from Central or Town Hall will take you directly to Darling Harbour. Enjoy a stroll from Central Station on the pedestrian Goods Line which will take you into Darling Harbour or walk across the new pedestrian walkway from Wynyard to Barangaroo and along the foreshore to ICC Sydney.
